Obituary for Raymond Sheedy

SHEEDY, Raymond Harold - Died peacefully surrounded by family at Kingston General Hospital on Sunday February 22, 2015 at the age 70 yrs. Raymond (Ray) Sheedy of Cardinal, was born in Pembroke, Ontario on October 9th, 1944. He attended Holy Name High School in Pembroke, where he graduated in 1962. He was married in October of 1962, and started a family soon after. The family moved to several towns in Eastern Ontario before settling in the Prescott/Brockville area, in 1968. After securing work in at the Canada Starch Plant in Cardinal, Ray moved there in 1980, and has resided there ever since. Ray is survived by three loving children: David of Invemere, BC, Vicki in Toronto, and Christopher, also in Toronto. Missed fondly by his two daughters-in-law Joanne Sheedy (Lusby) and Terri Wolfe. Remembered by the mother of his children Geri Sheedy (nee Gauthier) of Cobourg, ON. His sister Gail Shannon (nee Sheedy) will miss her ‘chum’, as will her husband Danny Shannon. Ray had three nieces with whom he was very close, and will hold him forever in their hearts – Jenny Solar (Sheedy), Melissa Shannon, and Sarah Shannon. Mourned also by two granddaughters, Rebecca Sheedy and Alex Sheedy. He was predeceased by his father Harold Sheedy, by mother Iveagh Sheedy (Mohns), and by brothers Wayne, Noll and Daniel. Thanks from the family go to the extraordinary team of medical professionals at the Kingston General Hospital; their care was professional, compassionate, and supportive. It is the wish of the family that any donations that people might want to be make, be made to the Kingston General Hospital, in appreciation of the care given. Services and Internment to be held in Pembroke, Ontario, at a date yet to be determined. Arrangements by the Neville Funeral Home, 491 Isabella St., Pembroke.
