The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Olwen Lavelle can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: JoAnn Valiquette
Condolence: Michael and I deeply regret that we will not be back in Ottawa in time to attend the service on Thursday. We will remember Olwen for living a life of strong convictions, commitment to tradition, respectful friendships and a dozen quirky habits. Our gratitude to Olwen's family especially Lynn and Hali for their attention to her care, especially this past year. JoAnn and Michael Valiquette

Condolence: My mother Jean Caughey(Meindl) and Olwen went to school together. She was quite sad to hear that she had passed. Olwen was at Heritage for a short period of time and mom was pleased to see her. We are out of town for the service. I really think mom would have liked to attend.

Condolence: I have lots of fond memories, and some very funny ones,of the years that I worked with Olwen on the liturgy at St. Brigid Church in Ottawa. When I last visited her at the Edinburgh she still knew her own mind. And by phone she told me how much she liked the Miramichi. We will miss her.

Condolence: Very nice our cousin Olwen, proud Pembrokian and Ottawan, returned to Pembroke for her last year. We are happy to learn of the excellent care she received so that she was comfortable and content. Already people have been calling us with respects since they know her from events at house. The Ottawa family is proud of her generous support of and legacy to CHEO. Olwen will be missed by many at CHEO, Mt St Patrick supper, Mother Tucker Tuesdays, Casino, Paddy's Day parade, and among the Irish community. We send our condolences to our cousins, Liz, Lynn, and Lori, and their families.
