ECKERSLEY, Rita Mary - Surrounded by her loving family at the Ottawa Hospital - General Campus on Saturday, January 14th, 2017 in her 86th year. Rita Eckersley (nee Klatt) of Pembroke, beloved wife of Michael Eckersley and by previous marriage the late Lloyd Kutschke. Loving mother of George-Ann (Edward) Jacyno of Pembroke and Paula (Maurice) Leger of Ottawa. Caring grandmother of Marshall (Karen) of Nepean, Tony (Adrienne) Jacyno of Pembroke and Melissa (Keith) Buchanan of Ottawa. Caring great grandmother of Alexander, William, Zachary, Macey and Isabella Jacyno, and Rose Buchanan. Dear step-mother of Nicki Clarkson and Joanne Eckersley of England. Caring step-grandmother of Jake, Max and Mischa. Predeceased by sisters Margaret Martel, Geraldine O’Brien and Melba Armstrong, by brothers Bernard, Hubert, Joseph, Stanley and Reginald Klatt, and by sister-in-law Violet Rafuse. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Rita was a longtime teacher with the Renfrew County Catholic School Board and enjoyed all aspects of life and family. Respecting Rita’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Pembroke on Friday, January 20th, 2017 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
