Condolence: To all the Sloan family our deepest condolences go out to you. Jim was a great person, always with a smile, always ready for a chat, always in good spirit no matter what was going on in and out of uniform. He was one friendly policemen who was welcoming, no one ever had to fear him like some others. He was one of a few that didn't use his power against others. Anytime I met him be it at church, Pembroke memorial center, or on the street he was always a friendly guy with a twinkle in his eye and a kind word. We have all lost a great man who achieved his status by being a nice person. He will be sorely missed. I will keep you in my prayers as you journey alone in your grief even though you all will grieve for different reasons and different lengths of time until the black hole fades and only the memories are left to hold onto. Rip Jim you are now at peace you have fulfilled your earthly duties well.

Condolence: John ( Freeman) and I are so sorry to hear this sad news. In the 18+ years that I've known Jimmy he was the epitomy of the kind, caring, funny, and friendly community spirit that makes small town living so great. With his guidance, sportsmanship and generosity, the "Friends of Bogie's Bar" at the Pembroke Memorial Centre made $1000's of contributions to the community, in particular, the Splash Pad at Riverside Park...making it a wonderful, accessible, gathering place for children and their parents. Jimmy was always available to the Recreation Department, and always smiling, cracking jokes, and helping others. He will be sadly missed and dearly remembered as one of the good guys. So sorry for your loss Paula, Everett and Warren.
