A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON, died in Pembroke, on the 13th day of August, 2018, in the 64th year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, her brother Brian (Edel), her cousin Dan (Carol), several nieces, nephews and devoted cousins in Ireland and other areas. Predeceased by parents, John and Catherine (Katrensky), her brother, Jack and sister, Catherine Comerford, Sister Sheila was born in Esterhazy, Sk. on May 15th, 1936. She entered the Community on September 8th, 1954, pronouncing final vows on August 4th, 1959. Her areas of Ministry involved music and choir, teaching at All Hollows College, Dublin, Ireland, at Schools and Churches in Ottawa, Timmins and Eganville. Other assignments included Director of Liturgy for the Ottawa Archdiocese, the R.C.I.A. Program in Nassau, Bahamas, Director of Pastoral Care at the Sault Ste. Marie General Hospital, as well as service on the Canadian Team of the North American Catechumenate, Washington. Recently, illness necessitated a move from Ottawa to Caritas Residence, Pembroke, and then to Shalom Residence where she died peacefully. Visitation at Caritas Residence, 215 Deacon Street, Pembroke, Thursday, August 16th, 2018 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Funeral Liturgy in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Columbas Cemetery.
