DALY, June (nee St. James) - Peacefully at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke with loving family at her side, on September 19th, at the age of 92. Survived by sons Des and Dan, and daughter Sheila; granddaughter Beth (Erek), and grandson Andy (Ariane); and great granddaughters Hannah and Zoe, and lovingly remembered by sisters Mame, Loreen, Lani and Sandra, and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Mary Alice and Louis Desmond; loving husband Gerry in 1991; brothers Tom, Frank, Gail, Gus and sister Geraldine. June was born in Iroquois Falls, and went to work in the Time Office of the Abitibi paper mill after graduation from IFSS. She married Gerry and became a homemaker in 1956. She loved her family in Iroquois Falls and they were central to her life. Not a world traveller, and tolerant of time at the family cottage at Watabeag Lake, she was happiest at home. After Gerry’s death, she doted on her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When she wasn’t able to continue to live alone, Sheila happily invited her into her home until June’s health could not allow it anymore. The family would like to thank the amazing caregivers at the Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke for all their compassion and care while looking after her, since March 2017. She will be buried beside Gerry in the Abitibi Cemetery, Iroquois Falls. Service will be announced at a later date.
