Chrissy was a remarkable woman, and will have a treasured place in my and my family's hearts forever. We were extraordinarily lucky to be practically raised by Chrissy, as our family's caregiver/nanny for around fifteen years (me, from a newborn to around 10, when Chrissy was 69-79). We called her "Keeka" because Chrissy was too hard for a toddler to pronounce, and the nickname stuck. She was incredibly sharp, but even more incredibly loving and sweet. As a little kid, I remember napping on her lap, and sleepovers at her place when Mom and Dad were traveling. She would remind me that she tricked me into taking baths by promising "It's just in and out!" until I eventually caught on. Then as an adult, I'll always remember trips with her to the casino (I called her my good luck charm!), our road trip around Pembroke to pick up fresh ingredients for dinner ("Always buy the most expensive eggs" was her advice), and her crying with joy at the idea that she could come to my wedding last September (at 101!), until we realized that with the American health insurance system there was no way (but she made the sweetest digital cameo anyway). Her not just tolerance but adoration of me and my husband will never be forgotten and was so meaningful. She was gossiping about royals, sharing political views, and giving advise on how to self-isolate ("this is nothing compared to the war!") until just a couple weeks before her passing. We should all be so lucky to pass at 101, brilliant to the end, peacefully in our sleep, loved by dozens of people around the world. Sending our love and prayers to her family. The world has lost a guardian angel, but heaven has gained one.
