Obituary for Eileen Mary Davidson (Kelly)

DAVIDSON, Eileen Mary - Peacefully at home on Thursday, June 13th, 2019 in her 90th year. Eileen Davidson (nee Kelly) of Pembroke, beloved wife of Doug Davidson for over 70 years, cherished mother to Coleen Davidson (Jean- C. Carriere), Brian Davidson (Janice Ovelson), Patrick Davidson (Diane Weeks), devoted grandmother to Zacharie Davidson-Carriere (Kayley Patterson), Darija Davidson, Dreuanah Davidson. Predeceased by mother Rose Kelly (Penny) father Bill Kelly, sister Rose Gaudaur (Kelly), brother in-law Clair Gaudaur. Eileen was the pragmatist in the family, keeping things real. She was known for her generosity, her kindness, her sense of style, her extraverted nature – a great listener, everyone told her their secrets (she always kept the confidence) – her capacity for having fun with her friends and family is legendary. Growing up in Kapuskasing, she was known as one of the “beautiful Kelly girls” – my father always called her Kel. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Always stylish, in her favourite colours of yellow or red, sporting her signature perfect long red nails. She was the queen bee of her social circle. She was instrumental in creating the “ski-doo gang”, organizing card parties, attending many dances. My parents enjoyed 23 winters in Florida. My mother loved the sun, walking on the beach, and her wish of retiring as a “beach bum” in Florida with my dad came true. The great work of Eileen’s life, is the life she created with each of her actions of generosity, kindness, joyfulness and most importantly love. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of tthe

“Our Birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life’s Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But railing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:
Heaven lies about us in infancy.”
