Obituary for Mary Martha Elaine Risto

RISTO, Mary Martha Elaine - Peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 10th, 2021 in her 91st year. Elaine Risto (nee Cotnam) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late Donald Risto. Devoted mother of Karen. Loving grandmother to Talon (Andrea) and Shanagh. Caring great grandmother of Atreyu. Predeceased by parents George and Martha Cotnam (nee Giroux) and by brothers Frank (the late Mary) Cotnam, Cecil (Therese) Cotnam, Kenneth (the late Allie) Cotnam, John (the late Helen) Cotnam, George (Leona) Cotnam, Harold (Sheila) Cotnam, Gerald (Claire) Cotnam and by sisters Gladys (the late Mike) Courneya, Alice (the late Alby) Castle, Joan (the late Delmer) Desjardins and Betty (the late Ken) Griffin.
Elaine was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pembroke Legion, Branch 72 for many years, employee of 16 years at Bell Canada, avid bowler in several valley leagues, dabbled in darts and curling and loved euchre and crib. Elaine was a strong woman who was passionate about her friends and her family. She deeply loved her many many nieces and nephews. She will be so very missed by too many to count. on Monday from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Church of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, Pembroke on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery, Pembroke. A LIMITED NUMBER OF PEOPLE ARE PERMITTED AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND CHURCH AT ANY GIVEN TIME - FACE MASKS/COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE VISITATION AND MASS. Please feel free to bring your own face mask/covering or one will be supplied to you upon arrival.
