Obituary for Lawrence Scheuneman

SCHEUNEMAN, Lawrence - With gratitude for a life well lived, but with great sadness, we share with you the news of the passing of Lawrence Scheuneman on Monday, September 23rd, 2019 at the age of 73. He is now released from the increasing health challenges through which he journeyed with courage and determination over the past few years. Lawrence was born on May 4th, 1946, to Bernhard (Ben) and Martha (Schultz) Scheuneman. As the youngest of nine, Lawrence lived his entire life on the family farm, which he cherished, at Lake Dore. On July 31st, 1971, he was married to Bernadette Mainville, at St. Alphonsus’ Church, Chapeau, QC. He is survived and sadly missed by his wife Bernadette, their daughters Tammy (Tim Brunke) and Tania, his wonderful sister Marion and brother-in-law Jack Buder, and sister-in-law Luella. Bringing him much joy throughout their lives were his grandchildren: Elliott, Annabelle and Effie-Rose. He was cherished by his late brothers and sisters Victor (Evelyn) Scheuneman, Jack Scheuneman, June (Adolf) Petrulis, Ann (Gordon) Robinson, Marjorie (Walter) Reiche, Bennie Scheuneman, and Clarence Scheuneman. He was also fortunate to have the love and support of Bernadette’s family Toussaint (Françoise) Mainville, Orance (Christiane) Mainville, Carmel (Edmond) Chartrand, Edmond (Pierrette) Mainville, the late Louise (Russell Roy and Micheline), Rolline (the late Lucien) Larocque, Émile (Claudette) Mainville, Antoinette (the late Ronald) Mainville, Robert (Mary) Mainville) and André (Theresa) Mainville. He is also remembered with love by so many nieces and nephews, to whom he provided kindness and endless humour. To have known Lawrence was to have known a person who was charismatic, generous and loving. He left his mark everywhere he went and we all have a funny “Lawrence, Lorenz, Lornie, dad, mon oncle, uncle, pur or dampers” story. We look forward to sharing your happy memories of Lawrence at his Celebration of Life that will take place at the Rankin Culture & Recreation Centre, 20 Rankin Rink Road, Pembroke on Thursday, September 26th, 2019 from 3-6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital or the St. John's Bonnechere Church would be appreciated.
