SMITH, Richard Kenneth “Rick” - Peacefully at Miramichi Lodge on Thursday, October 1st, 2020 in his 76th year. Rick Smith of Pembroke, beloved husband of Carolyn Smith (nee Weir). Loving father of Jill (Richard Scheuer) and Jaime (Evan) Zimmerman. Caring grandfather of Sophie Zimmerman. Dear brother of late Don (Arlene) Smith, Joan (late Robert Kobus), Marian Clemow (Lloyd Levesque), and John (Aline) Smith. Predeceased by his parents Archibald (Bud) and Edith Smith. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Respecting Rick’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Calvin United Church, 276 Church St., Pembroke on Friday, October 9th, 2020 from 12-1 p.m. followed by a small Private Family Service. DUE TO THE CURRENT RESTRICTIONS REGARDING COVID-19, A LIMITED NUMBER OF PEOPLE ARE PERMITTED AT THE CHURCH AT ANY GIVEN TIME - FACE MASKS/COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND VISITATION. Please feel free to bring your own face mask/covering or one will be supplied to you upon arrival. The family hopes to hold a celebration of life with a gathering of family and friends in the spring at the Renfrew Golf Club. We wish to thank the many friends and family who provided their support over the years during Rick’s illness. We also wish to thank the staff at Miramichi Lodge (specifically the staff on 1A) who provided such loving care to Rick during his time there.
