SCHROEDER, Simone - Peacefully at hospital in Ottawa on Friday, February 18th, 2022 in her 83rd year. Simone Schroeder (nee Gauthier) of Pembroke, beloved wife of Daniel Stewart. Loving mother of Dan (Lynda) Schroeder and Shelley (Tom) Fallon. Loving stepmother of Tom (Wanda) Stewart and Doug (Letitia) Stewart. Caring grandmother of MaryEllen, Allison, the late Joshua, Lisa, Michael, Patrick, Kelly and Greyson. Caring great grandmother of Owen, Braden, Carter, Linden, Henry and Adelaide. Survived by sister Elsie (Rick) Power, Lorraine (the late Francis) Godin and brother Ron (Ruby) Gauthier. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Lida Gauthier (nee Pleau), sisters Lillian Pelletier and Sister Rita Gauthier, S.C.O., brothers Russell (the late Viola), Leonard “Baber” (Florence), Isidore (the late Audrey), Joseph (the late Gloria), Peter “Mick” (Beatrice) and Theophile “Tuffer” (the late Rae) Gauthier. We have lost and will miss our feisty competitive matriarch. Respecting Simone's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Pembroke on Friday, May 20th, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment of Ashes in St. Columba’s Cemetery, Pembroke. Heartfelt thanks to the medical and nursing team of the Geriatric Ward of the Royal Ottawa Hospital with special thanks to Dr. Lau, Dr. Shaw, and Josee Lavoie.
