A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON, died in Pembroke, Ontario on the 29th day of February, 2020, in the 70th year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, her sister-in-law, June Sinnott, devoted nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by parents, Joseph James and Irene (Séguin), her brothers - Patrick, Carl, James, Richard, Michael and Leo; her sisters, Eileen Stumpilich, Jeanne and Patricia Sinnott. Sister Margaret was born on May 10, 1929 in Windsor, ON. She entered the Community on September 8, 1950, pronouncing final vows on August 9, 1955. A teacher by profession, she served in various areas, including Pembroke, Ottawa, Timmins, Windsor, and in Port Credit as Principal of St. James School. In 1988, a change of ministry led her to the position of Director of Pastoral Care at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Windsor, and later as Chaplain of St. Patrick’s High School in Ottawa. In retirement, Sister Margaret volunteered her skills as a teacher at St. Patrick’s Junior High School, assistant at Holy Cross and Canadian Martyrs Parishes, Pastoral Visitor at Riverside Hospital and office worker at Bronson Centre. Her final years were lived peacefully at Shalom Residence, Pembroke. Visitation at Caritas Residence, 215 Deacon St., Pembroke, ON, Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. followed by sharing of memories.
