Jim White: Lost & Found

Jim White was the only child of my eldest brother, James R. White, and he was a very special person in both mine and my father's lives. My father carried a photo in his wallet of me holding Jimmy as he sat on the front bumper of my dad's 1932 model A Ford Roadster. We were his youngest son and his only grandson together with his prized automobile.

Circumstances took the three of us apart: dad's death, Jimmy's mother's lengthy illness and eventual death and my wartime sea service, but Jimmy was always in my heart. When I met and married Aline, she began a quest to find Jimmy and she finally found him and his family in Pembroke.

Although we were miles apart, Aline and I carried Jimmy and Rae and family in our hearts, and I'm so happy to say that Jean also cherishes Jimmy's memory and the lover for Rae and all the family.

Rest well, Jimmy! You've made all of us proud to be family.

Peter
