Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Poole can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

What a shame, a real gent, WO Poole was a great guy, we worked together for a number of years. I used to go on recce and he would be by the back of his truck, with the stove on, drinking a coffee with a bunch of other lads. I would give him a long list of things that needed to get done in Support Troop and he would write them down in his FMP, nodding his head all the while, and never asking a question. I always expected him to rush off and do them, but he never got up. I would come back 6 or 7 hours later and he would be in the exact same spot, with his coffee cup and with the usual characters gathered around, nothing had changed, or moved, except everything was somehow completed, to a very high standard, by elves or something. Magic. Long before he left the unit he promised me a pair of his over-boots so I could turn them in for a pair my size. He left, and moved far away. Months later someone showed up with a pair for me, his size. He hadn't forgotten. Promising the over-boots was enough of a kind gesture, delivering them after starting a new life somewhere else was especially kind. May he rest in peace and may God grant all of you, his friends and family, the peace of mind that comes from knowing he was a very respected, well thought of person who made his mark on this earth and is well remembered.
