A Memory of Aunt Margaret

Gail and Delbert: I have many , many memories of your mom. Up until a few years before your Dad passed away, they used to make their annual trip to Timmins to visit my mom and Dad ( Uncle Gerald). Your mom always referred to my dad, as her big brother. She would make Dad laugh a lot as they reminisced over old times and people they knew as children. There was a big age gap between your Mom and my Dad, but whenever I look at pictures of them together, I see a big smile on Dad's face. One time, your Mom came up to Timmins and gave me a beautiful glass bowl. She said that bowl had been in the farmhouse as long as she could remember, but she said it did not belong to her mom. She believed it belonged to Grandpa Crowley's first wife, Anna, who was dad's mother. Since my dad lost his mother and baby brother in the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1919, there are very few memories or momentos of Anna. Your mom knew that bowl would mean a lot to me, and I was overwhelmed by her generousity. That bowl is one of my most cherished items in our house. It is an act of kindness that I will never forget. From all us Crowleys here in Timmins you are in our thoughts. Please know we are thinking of you both and now Aunt Margaret has joined Dad and the other family members where they can continue there gab session in the sky. Our deepest sympathies. Judy Allard (nee Crowley). Timmins
