'MY SON, MY HEIR'

'MY SON, MY HEIR'

In this instance I'm going to break for a moment from my normal format.
I'm hopefull that the following text will set the stage for what I feel to be a unique subject.
Let me explain; Upon returning from my children's school the family settled in for the remainder of the evening.my daughter scurried of to her bedroom arms overflowing with new books. My wife drifted quietly to the computer room as my eleven year old son and I browsed through the upcoming events on television.

Now since his is the age of puberty I watch closely for all oppertunities to reach him on an 'Adult Level' of thought. this as fate would have it was to be such a moment. The range of conversation boggled even the sharpest mind. ' I know now where babies come from' he boasted. I was very impressed with his attention to detail with such a delicate topic. The oral text was flying by me so quickly i scarcely saw him breathe. Suddenly without a break he exclaimed; 'DAD'? 'If you were to die in say the next five or six minutes what would you leave me'? I responded curiously to such a question by asking him to explain.'Dad'! ' I don't want you to ever die,' in an apologetic voice,' but; I'm curious what you will leave me when you die'.

For a man of many words I could think of none. The innocence of his words, the gentleness in his unscathed heart left me speechless.Well my son I write this because of you.

MY SON, 'MY HEIR'
