Confession in a Boat

I was a close friend of Father Chabot from the time he was Chaplain for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Pembroke. When I moved west, I visited Father Howard whenever I returned home. Father was always happy to see me, which made me feel special, and on one particular visit to his cottage on the Ottawa River, he asked, "would you like a ride in my boat?" Of course, I said "yes." Father rowed quietly around the river and asked how things were going? We spoke of many things, and then Father, always the Priest as well as the friend, asked me, "Mary, would you like to go to Confession?" I never miss an opportunity to go to Confession, so I said "yes, I would." He then proceeded to hear my Confession in the Boat. It was a grace-filled experience!! Thank you, Father Howard. I will always remember my Confession in a Boat!!
